Which is why RBC has developed diverse scholarship programs worth over $500,000 a year to help students address the critical need for funding across Canada?

About RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships

As students across Canada continue to invest in their education, many equally invest in their communities.

In recognition of the growing number of Canadian students showing a passion for leading and inspire positive change in their community, RBC created the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarship which awards a total of fifteen (15) RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships worth $10,000 each.

Eight (8) scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school students, and seven (7) scholarships will be awarded to post-secondary students.

Although applying students are eligible for all 15 scholarships, 3 scholarships per student category (6) will be reserved exclusively for RBC Royal Bank student clients.

175 bursaries for $1,000 will be awarded to help with post-secondary education costs. RBC provides over $550,000 in annual scholarships, including the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships, RBC Aboriginal Student Awards Program, and Scholarship Program for the Children of RBC Employees.

Scholarship Worth:

RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships Award is worth $10,000 and is available for 15 lucky candidates.

Eligibility

Students attending a Canadian post-secondary institution in fall 2024 are eligible to apply. The students who fall into one of the 2 categories below are eligible to apply:

  • Category 1 (Graduating High School or CEGEP): Students currently enrolled in their graduating year of a Canadian High School or CEGEP, or who have graduated from a Canadian High School or CEGEP within the last 2 years, and will be enrolled in their first year of a minimum 2-year undergraduate degree or diploma program on a full-time basis at a recognized publicly-funded Canadian university or college in the fall 2024 academic term.
  • Category 2 (Undergraduate or Graduate Degree or Diploma): Students currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program full-time in a recognized publicly-funded Canadian university and plan to continue full-time studies in fall 2024. Students must have at least 2 years of full-time studies left in the program.
  • Students with a disability who attend or plan to attend post-secondary school part-time in fall 2024 are eligible.

Level/Field of Study:

To qualify, students must be an RBC Royal Bank clients through the winner’s announcement date. Eight (8) scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school students, and seven (7) scholarships to students enrolled in any year of post-secondary studies.

Host Nationality: 

The scholarship is taken in Canada

Eligible Nationalities: 

All applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents with a minimum 75% average in their last completed year of study.

To help bring the students closer to these goals, RBC is pleased to announce the opening of its application process for the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarship.

Applications are now available online, and students are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline. Scholarship beneficiaries are selected for their academic excellence, with a strong emphasis on civic and volunteer engagement. Applications for the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships open in November each year. The deadline to apply is on February 2024.

Eligibility: Students who identify as a visible minority, female, Aboriginal or Indigenous background, LGBT+, Veterans, and/or persons with disabilities. Students in full-time undergraduate studies graduating in December 2024 or Spring 2024, who are enrolled in a business, engineering or economics program at a university in Canada.

Application Opens: Friday, April 12, 2024 – Friday, May 31, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST

Award: Up to 4 awards worth $5,000 each PLUS a 2024 summer analyst position with RBC Capital Markets in Toronto.

The RBC Capital Markets Scholarship for Women

Eligibility: Female students in full-time undergraduate studies graduating in December 2024 or Spring 2024 enrolled in a business, engineering, or economics program at a university in Canada.

Application Opens: Friday, April 12, annually – Friday, May 31, annually, at 11:59 PM EST.

Award: Up to 4 awards worth $5,000 each PLUS a 2024 summer analyst position with RBC Capital Markets in Toronto.

RBC Award

Eligibility: High School students in Grade 12 in Atlantic Canada, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northern Ontario who will be attending a Canadian post-secondary institution in fall 2024. The high school Administration submits nominations (e.g., Principal, Vice Principal, or Guidance Counselor).

Award: 175 bursaries for $1,000 will be awarded to help with post-secondary education costs and an opportunity for an RBC internship.
