(a)  ACCOMMODATION

In accordance with current policy, the Bowen university hostel houses all registered students. Therefore, it is mandatory that all university students live on campus.
Upon arrival, students will be assigned rooms in residences in accordance with the Student Affairs Unit.

b) BEDS

Students must come with their own bedding (sheets, pillowcases, and blankets). Students will be responsible for cleaning their room and bedding.

c) CONDUCT IN THE HALL OF RESIDENCE.

Students may not sell, buy, advertise, solicit, offer or market items in academic residences or in the university environment, except when officially authorized. If this rule is violated, the guilty parties will be guilty of disciplinary sanctions.
Filtering beds in residences is not allowed, except for using a transparent mosquito net.

(d) EXEATS

To get away from the university campus, either in the city or on the move, an undergraduate student must obtain an excellent issued by the student affairs unit.
To travel outside the city, the Dean of Student Affairs must approve such exaltation, which should have been requested at least 48 hours before the said trip. Undergraduate students are usually not allowed to travel more than once a month.
iii. The tests will not normally be published to cover a period of worship and group devotions.

Any student outside the University without an exeat will be subject to disciplinary measures.

e) VISITING HOURS IN HALLS OF RESIDENCE

Students may be allowed to visit their peers in other residences, but not during the general assembly or the worship service period and beyond 9:00 p.m. daily.
Visits to residences of the opposite sex are not allowed.

(f) SOCIAL GATHERING/CELEBRATION

All proposals for celebrations and social gatherings organized on campus by individuals, clubs, and associations must be submitted in writing for review and recommendation through the staff advisor or principal of the school in question, and for approval by the Dean of Student Affairs. The organizers of the program without the required approval will be sanctioned appropriately.

Bowen University Tuition Fees

Bowen University is now been inviting Applications for suitably qualified candidates for admission to their degree programs for the 2024/2024 academic session.

These requirements are the General Bowen University Admission Requirements for students seeking to study in the Institution.

1. UTME

(a) All candidates must take the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

(b) All applicants must have SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent credits approved in at least five (5) subjects. Which must include the English language and four other subjects specified by each faculty.

(c) The five credits must be obtained in a maximum of two sessions.

(d) For Medicine and Surgery programs (MB, BS), Nursing and Physiotherapy. All five credits (including maths and English) must be obtained at only one exam sitting, and NABTEB is not acceptable

(e) Candidates awaiting results may apply.

(f) All applicants must sit during the Bowen University Screening Exercise.

(g) Candidates must complete the application forms at the university.

(h) Interested applicants who have applied for admission to the JAMB and wish to change their choice of an institution at Bowen University should:

2. DIRECT ENTRY

All direct-entry candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

(a) NCE at credit level, ND and approved equivalents with at least Lower Credit in relevant fields.

(b) At least two Advanced Level passes at an Acceptable Grade Level.

(c) The Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB). Or the Cambridge Moderated School of Basic Studies at acceptable grade levels.

In addition to NCE/ND/IJMB, JUPEB or two advanced level documents specified by each faculty or program. Applicants must also meet the Ordinary Level requirements.

It is possible admitting Holders of HND at level 200 or 300 level depending on the admission regulations in each department/program.

Bowen University Scholarships and Financial Aid

The administration of the university wishes to use this means to thank all the members of our denomination (The Nigerian Baptist Convention). It is in light of this assessment that we wish to inform all members of the Baptist denomination. At its meeting of May 30, 2017, the University Governing Council increased from 10% to 15% the rebate forwards of Baptist Members’ Biological Children.

Procedures for assessing 15% Discount/Rebate for Baptist Members’ Biological Children:

1. At the beginning of each academic year, the pastor of the church and the church secretary will send a detailed list of all Baptist students in their church for those who wish to request a referral. This information should include the following:

  • Name of students
  • Matriculation Number (for returning students)
  • The course of study/Department.

2. The Schedule must be signed by the following officers of the Church

  • The Pastor of the Church.
  • The Secretary of the Church.

3. The schedule of returning students must be sent to the Registrar no later than October 30, while new students must be sent by December 20 at the latest.
