Harris Institute has a goal to raise individual achievement by deliberately promoting six principles; encouraging education in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, motivating youth to stay in school, Promoting optimum health, Building financial skills, Instilling the values of responsibility, fairness, and respect, Fostering youth leadership and citizenship.
The Educational Mission of the Harris Institute is to “enhance the quality education” by enabling youths to develop and achieve their full potential through the support of educational programs, particularly science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics – STEM and STEAM.
The Health Mission of the Harris Institute is to “Improve health and wellbeing” by creating and implementing strategies/programs for wellness, fitness, and health. The Wealth Mission of the Harris Institute is to “Create and Sustain wealth” by enhancing the financial intelligence (FIQ) of individuals and their families by educating people of the basics of finance to meet there and the communities’ economic needs.
The partnership between Harris Institute and the University of the West of Scotland and Edinburgh Napier University enables UWS students to complete overseas work placements in Toronto and Harris graduates to earn degrees in 8 months at the UWS School of Media, Language and Music and Edinburgh Napier’s School of Arts and Creative Industries.
Application Criteria For International Applicants
The minimum academic requirement for admission to Harris Institute is the Ontario Secondary School Diploma or its equivalent. Completed Application, a Cover letter describing the applicant’s interests and goals, Résumé, Two letters of reference, (Letters confirming the applicant’s longstanding interest in the area of study are preferred), Education Transcripts from high school or post-secondary; Copies of originals are accepted. The minimum requirement for enrolment is an Ontario Grade 12 OSSD or Equivalent.

Application Deadlines
Priority consideration is given to applications received sixty (60) days prior to a term start. Program Start Dates; March 25, 2024, July 15, 2024, November 11, 2024, March 23, 2024, July 13, 2024.
Applicants are required to confirm their enrolment with a tuition deposit of $500 which is due fourteen (14) days following the notification of acceptance. The balance of each term’s tuition is due thirty (30) days prior to the start of each term. Applicants applying for government financial assistance must inform the registrar’s office at the time of enrolment.

Total MBP (APP + AMP) Tuition: $29,256.00 (CAD)
Harris Institute Scholarship
Financial assistance may be available to those who qualify, in the form of a student line of credit, or a student loan is an option available from most major Canadian financial institutions. Information on funding and the online application procedure for the Ontario Student Assistance Program are available at OSAP. It’s not necessary to be accepted to a post-secondary institution prior to applying for funding. The advantage is increased processing time and an instant award assessment estimate at the end of the application session.
Thirty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students starting the Arts Management Program, Audio Production Program, or Music Business Professional on March 25th and July 15, 2024. Fifteen Harris Institute scholarships for each start will go to qualified candidates on a first-come basis.
Nine $500 Harris Institute scholarships are presented at the annual Graduation and Awards Ceremony to the students who achieved the highest academic standing in APP/AMP 1, APP 2 and AMP 2 each term.
A $1,000 award is presented annually to the student who achieves the highest academic standing in the Audio Production or Arts Management Program.
All students are eligible to be nominated by Harris Institute staff for three $4,000 scholarships presented annually by MusiCounts (CARAS) in the categories of producer/engineer, music business or a performing artist.
Double Major graduates of APP + AMP receive a $2,500 bursary and are awarded Music Business Professional (MBP) Certification.
The Charles James Harris Leadership Award is presented with $500 to a student who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities by contributing to school life.
Graduates of the Audio Production and the Arts Management Programs are eligible for full scholarships valued at $17,000 for BA or BSc Degrees at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).
Double major graduates of APP + AMP are eligible for direct entry into Master’s
Degrees at UWS with partial scholarships valued at $3,500, an accommodation bursary and meal plan.
Students achieving a combined average of 80% or greater from all courses within the Audio Production Program or the Arts Management Program are awarded the Harris Institute Honors Diploma.
Harris Alumni Awards for ‘Excellence in Audio Production’, ‘Music Industry Education’ and ‘Music Industry Professional of the Year’ are presented to past graduates and faculty.
