What is the University of Admission Like?

The admission process at the University of Salford is very flexible and straightforward.

Basically, most undergraduate students apply through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). So, to use this service, your school or college will help you get access. And with the access, you can easily apply whether you’re in the UK or any part of the world.

  • Part-time courses and BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies
  • The BSc (Hons) Midwifery (post RN, 20 months) program
  • Post-qualifying Health and Social care courses and single modules
  • BSc Applied Football Studies
  • Higher and Degree Apprenticeship programs
  • The International Foundation Year or Pre-sessional English courses

Aside from the UCAS application format, you can also apply using an online application form which takes about 20 minutes if you have all the required documents handy. But in the case where you don’t have the complete documents, save your application and continue later.

Below, we have outlined the procedures you need to adhere to.

  1. Get a mobile device with a strong internet connection.
  2. Set up your account y using a strong password and username. Note, your password must be at least 9 characters containing uppercase, lowercase, digit, and non-alphanumeric.
  3. Once you are done, you can come back to complete the application later if you don’t have the following supporting documents:
  • A reference.
  • Transcripts or certificates showing that you meet, or are likely to meet, the entry requirements for your course.
  • A personal Statement
  • If English is not your first language, evidence that your command of English meets the standards required for postgraduate study (you’ll usually need an IELTS score of 6.5 or the equivalent).
  • If you live outside the EU, provide your passport and student visa.
  • If you are applying for Applied Social Work Practice (MSc, PgDip or PgCert), you will also need to complete the agency sponsorship form and email it to p.a.killeen@salford.ac.uk
  • For MA courses in media production, you will need to submit a project proposal and a brief written synopsis that outlines your idea.   
  • Once you have submitted your application, you will get a confirmation mail after 5 minutes of your application submission.

ACCEPTING YOUR OFFER

If you receive an offer to study with the university, it will either be conditional or unconditional. An unconditional offer means you have already satisfied the requirements for entry and they accept you as a student. A conditional offer means there are some outstanding terms you need to meet before they can accept you.

The conditions of your offer will be detailed in your offer letter. If you are waiting for exam results and need to supply copies of academic certificates, please the university, stating your full name and date of birth, on pg-admissions@salford.ac.uk. Temporary Works Form Scholarship

This scholarship is provided by TWF. TWF is a subscription-based Forum whose focus is on encouraging open discussion of any subject related to temporary works available to any organization. 

They design the scholarship for undergraduate students who are in years 2 and 3 of their studies in the school of Science and Engineering. They entitle recipients of this scholarship to get £4,500 each.

The A.R Scholarship

This is another scholarship available at the University of Salford. This scholarship is provided by the university’s Alumnus to help students from low-income background who is studying a Digital Media Course.

The recipient of this scholarship gets £3,000 every year for three years of his studies.

The David Tupman Scholarship

This scholarship is also provided by an Alumnus of the university for students from a low-income background who are studying undergraduate Engineering degree.

The recipient of this scholarship gets £3,000 every year for three years of his studies.

Horlock Scholarship

The Horlock Scholarship is for three female students studying Engineering at either undergraduate or postgraduate level (BSc, BEng or MEng).

The successful students will receive £1,000 per annum for three years to support their studies.

UG Engineering Scholarship 

This scholarship is fully funded by an alumnus of the University to help students from a low-income background from the north-west of England who is studying for an undergraduate Engineering degree.

The successful student will receive £3,000 per annum for three years to support their studies.


The Haworth Trust Graduate Art Scholarship 

This University of Salford scholarship to a student studying in their last year, to provide support for 12 months after graduation. The opportunity has a specific focus on developing practice in figurative art.

The successful student will receive £3,000 and 12 months of support including mentoring. This opportunity will be shared with eligible students within their last year of study.
