ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES FOR POSTGRADUATE (FOREIGN AND LOCAL)

Documents To Be Submitted By Foreign Students:

1- An equivalent certificate of the latest academic qualification awarded by the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt.

2- A letter of candidacy from the country the student comes from to the faculty the student wishes to study at, clarifying the providing body, the university year in which the student wishes to study, and the degree obtained by the student. Also, the letter has to be signed by the cultural consultant of the embassy to be sent to the dean of the desired faculty.

3- A copy of the student’s passport that is valid for one whole year.

4- A document which proves that the student does not have AIDS, before seeking admission or registration.

5- An Excellence Certificate valid for one year (for medicine students)

6- Filing in 3 data forms at the desired faculty.

7- Filling in 3 information forms at the desired faculty.

8- Four personal photos

9- A file folder.

10- The grades of the four-year bachelor.

11- A diploma or pre-master certificate.

After fulfilling all previous requirements, an original copy of an Information Form and three photocopies of it have to be submitted with the student’s signature on them.

Enclosing a photocopy of the approval of the student’s embassy that the embassy agrees that the student study at the desired faculty, clarifying the providing body, the university year in which the student wishes to study and the degree the student wishes to do.

Faculties are to send the student’s data forms to the Supreme Council of Universities in Egypt.

Documents To Be Submitted By Egyptian Students:

1- The temporary bachelor’s certificate with the grade required for applying for Diplomas or Master’s degrees.

2- The temporary Master Certificate with the required grade (for PhD applicants)

3- A score report of the four-years bachelor.

4- A birth certificate or an official copy of it.

5- A copy of the National ID Card.

6- Six personal (4*6) photos.

7- Approval of the student’s workplace that he/she can enroll in postgraduate studies.

8- If the student is a civil servant, he/she has to have the approval of his/her workplace that he/she can give all his/her time to studies if necessary (or according to the faculty bylaws)

9- The Military Status Certificate (postponed / temporarily exempted / finally exempted)

10- The Armed Force’s approval in the case of conscripted students.

11- The Officers Affairs Departments’ approval if the student is a military officer or a police officer.

LIST OF FACULTIES AND THEIR DATES OF ENROLLMENT

Faculty of Arts Enrolling for Diplomas and Foundation Course is in July every year.
Faculty of Law The date of applying for Diplomas is from October 1 to December 31. The date of applying for Master’s and PhD degrees is throughout the year.
Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences The date of applying for postgraduate studies is from August 1 to August 30.
Faculty of Commerce Date of applying for Diplomas, Pre-Master and PhD is from August 1 to August 30.
Faculty of Science Date of applying for Masters, Pre-Masters and Diplomas are in July, and foreign students applying for PhDs are throughout the year.
Faculty of Medicine Dates of enrolling for Diplomas, Masters, and PhDs are as followed:   1- Papers are submitted in only July every year (from July 1 to July 31) 2- Classes start in October every year 3- Applying for PhDs is done twice a year, in March and October every year (Papers are submitted in January to start in March and in August to start in October)
Faculty of Nursing Applying for Diplomas and Master and PhD degrees is in July and August every year.
Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine Applying for Diplomas and Master degrees is from July 1 to July 31 of the year in which an applicant wishes to get started, but applying for PhDs is throughout the year.
Faculty of Pharmacy Date of applying for Diplomas and the Master and PhD degrees is in July every year.
Faculty of Engineering Applying for PhD degrees is throughout the year, but applying for Pre-Masters and Diplomas is in July and the applicant is registered on October 1 every year.
Faculty of Agriculture Registering for Diplomas is done once a year and applications are submitted during the first half of August (from August 1 to August 15 every year).   Dates of Submitting Applications: Students can apply for Master and PhD degrees twice a year, from January 1 to January 15 and from August 1 to August 15. Prerequisites: It is a pre-condition that an applicant for the Master’s degrees did not obtain his/her bachelor’s degrees of agricultural sciences more than 10 years ago. As for applying for the PhD degrees in agricultural sciences, it is a pre-condition that the applicant did not get his/her master’s degree more than 5 years ago. (Zolpidem)
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Applying for Master and PhD degrees is in March and September every year. Applying for Diplomas is in September every year.
Faculty of Dar El-Ulum As for General and Special Diplomas and Pre-Masters, the university year begins in October every year. As for the Master and PhD degrees, the university year is throughout the year.
Faculty of Mass Communications Applying for Pre-Masters, Pre-PhDs, and Diplomas is from August 15 to September 15, and throughout the year as for the Master and PhD degrees.
Faculty of Archaeology Students can apply for the Master and PhD degrees three times a year (in January, April, and October)
Faculty of Regional and Urban Planning Applications for Diplomas and Pre-Masters are accepted in July and applicants are registered on October 1 every year. Applications for PhD degrees are made throughout the year.
Statistical Studies and Research Institute Applications for the Master and PhD degrees are submitted twice a year (in March and October).
National Cancer Institute Applications for the Master’s degrees are made only once a year in July every year, but applications for the PhD degrees are made twice a year in September and April every year.
African Studies and Research Institute Applications for Diplomas are submitted in both January and August every year, but applications for the Master and PhD degrees are filed throughout the year.
Institute of Educational Studies and Research Applications for Diplomas are made within two weeks in August, and applications for the Master and PhD degrees are submitted within two weeks in September.
Faculty of Physiotherapy Applications for postgraduate studies are submitted during the first half of June every year.
The National Laser Institute Applications for postgraduate studies are made twice a year, in August and October.
Faculty of Computer and Informatics Sciences Applications for Master and PhD degrees are submitted in both March and October.
Faculty of Specific Education Applications for postgraduate studies are submitted to the faculty administration every year during the second half of August.
Faculty of Kindergarten Applications for postgraduate studies are made from August 15 to September 15.
