Who Can Apply?

The Future Bound scholarship is accessible to applicants from low-income and lower-middle income nations with no comparable postgraduate opportunities in health promotion or public health. (Currently, applicants from Ghana, Nigeria, and Gambia are not eligible.)

You must live and work in a low- or low-middle-income nation as defined by the World Bank to be eligible for the Forward Bound scholarship grant. You must also have received an offer of admission to the Health Promotion MSc program.

Typically, candidates would be employed in a public health or health promotion position. In extreme circumstances, candidates whose influence is through unpaid roles, such as through volunteer organizations or other health-related work, may also be taken into consideration.

Application Requirement

The following is how applicants are invited to apply for the scholarship:

Candidates with a degree in a field that is directly related—such as public health, nutrition, medicine, sport science, or the health sciences—relevant professional or volunteer experience, a compelling personal statement, and a clear idea of how the Health Promotion MSc will improve their ability to serve their nation or community in the future.

Applicants with degrees that aren’t immediately related (such as psychology, the social sciences, or the behavioral sciences) are nonetheless considered based on their prior work or volunteer experience and compelling personal statements.

Applicants with degrees in fields unrelated to the position (such as biosciences, business, or lab technology) will only be considered if they also have a strong personal statement outlining their commitment to the health mentioned above, promotion and vision.

A student visa (Tier 4) study visa is unlikely to be available to applicants who already hold a degree deemed to be equal to a master’s degree from the UK, and they are typically not encouraged to apply.
