$10,000 Herb Kohl Excellence Scholarship  | UPDATED

The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation 2024 is pleased to announce the Kohl Excellence Scholarship Program for students.

Any graduating high school students who intend to enroll in a post-secondary institution, university, college, or vocational/technical college are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

A Kohl Excellence Scholarship can only be used to directly reimburse tuition, room and board, books, technology, and fees for post-secondary education.

Know the Purpose of the Herb Kohl Excellence Scholarship

The objective of this Herb Kohl Excellence Scholarship plan is to acknowledge student leadership, citizenship, community and school participation, and academic achievement.

It’s the objective of the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation to support Wisconsin childhood to pursue post-secondary schooling in a public or non-public university, faculty, or vocational/technical faculty. The Foundation awards $10,000 in scholarships to 100 Wisconsin senior school graduates annually.

Level/Field of Study:

The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Excellence Scholarship 2020 is available for high school students who intend to enroll in a post-secondary institution.

These institutions may be public or nonpublic universities, colleges, or vocational/technical colleges. The scholarship consists of the following;

  1. Public School Students: Must be graduating public high school students who are Wisconsin residents and intend to enroll in a post-secondary institution which may be a public or nonpublic university, college, or vocational/technical college.
  2. Religious and Independent School Students: Must be Wisconsin residents, graduating from a religious/independent high school, and intending to enroll in a post-secondary institution, which may be a public or private university, college or vocational/technical college.
  3. Homeschooled Students: Must be homeschooled students who intend to enroll in a post-secondary institution, which may be a public or private university, college, or vocational/technical college.

The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Excellence Scholarship 2024 is made available for students who are citizens of the USA.

The Foundation awards $10,000 in scholarships to 100 Wisconsin high school graduates each year.

Eligibility:

To be considered eligible for the scholarship. the candidate fulfill the following requirements;

  • Applicants must be graduating high school students who intend to enroll in a postsecondary institution, which may be a public or nonpublic university, college, or vocational/technical college.
  • Students who are residents of the State of Wisconsin, are in good standing, and demonstrate probable success in postsecondary education are eligible to apply.  This is a competitive scholarship.
  • Eligibility is not limited by GPA, class rank, or any other school or program conferred status (ex., National Honor Society). Any student who meets the above eligibility criteria may apply. (xanax)
  • Students will be evaluated on their leadership, citizenship, school, and community involvement, and academic achievement. In addition, students will be evaluated on their ability to clearly articulate goals in each of four areas: future educational goals, personal life goals, community/society service goals, and career goals.
  • Each student must submit three letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation will be evaluated on how well they describe the student’s improvements, contributions, and successes. Letters may be from a current or previous year’s teacher, counselor, or principal.

Application Deadline:

Public school students must submit their completed applications, including letters of recommendation, no later than November 5 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time.

Religious and independent school students and homeschool students must submit their completed applications, including letters of recommendation, by November 26 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time.

Applications submitted by the deadline without the three required letters of recommendation are incomplete and will not be considered.
