Writing program

This program allows students to engage in writing throughout their entire educational career at Lasell University. First-year students take two writing courses, Writing I and Writing II, and upper-class students take two Writing Intensive courses in their major.

Additionally, students have access to other courses that will help them develop their writing skills.

To help perfect the skill, this program grant students access to several university publications where they get to submit essays and articles for publication.

Fifth year option

The Fifth Year Option at Lasell University allows undergraduate students with high academic standing to earn both their undergraduate and graduate degrees in as little as five years and save a good amount of money in the process. 

Qualified students can earn up to 12 graduate credits prior to starting their master’s degree at a bachelor degree price.

Lasell University Acceptance Rate and Admission Requirements

Lasell University admissions are less selective with an acceptance rate of 84% and an early acceptance rate of 89%. Half the applicants admitted to Lasell University have an SAT score between 980 and 1170 or an ACT score of 20 and 25. However, one-quarter of admitted applicants achieved scores above these ranges, and one quarter scored below these ranges. 1. Be a junior or senior in September 2024
2. Have completed at least one full year at Lasell
3. Have a grade-point average of at least 3.5
4. Contributed to the Lasell community

Florence Adams Scholarship
Established by former trustee Lydia A. Godsoe ’18 in honor of her mother. Preference given to “deserving students from the State of Maine.”

The Joan Weiler Arnow ’49 and Robert H. Arnow Scholarship
Established in 1995 to provide scholarship assistance to students who demonstrate academic achievement, civic responsibility, and demonstrated financial need. The income from this endowment gift provides for three scholarships annually; one per returning class. Funds from this scholarship may be reassigned to the same student for up to three years if the student continues to exemplify the outstanding qualities upon which the original assignment was made.

Overview: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), distracted driving in the United States results in nine deaths and more than 1,000 injuries every day.
