Amnesty International

Amnesty International is the leading international organization dedicated to protecting human rights for all citizens. The USA chapter offers many opportunities to witness the important law and policy work Amnesty performs to support those fighting abuses of power.

Amnesty International is dedicated to research into the societal causes of human rights violations and uses this research to prevent further abuses

Amnesty International works to protect human rights worldwide. Its vision is one of a world in which every person – regardless of race, religion, gender, or ethnicity – enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

Amnesty Internship Program

One of the most popular of Amnesty’s many programs is the Internship Program. Internships are unpaid and intended for college juniors and seniors, recent graduates and law students.

Interns have the opportunity to take part in research projects and strategy meetings, as well as some Congressional office meetings.

Amnesty Internship programs are usually based at the International Secretariat (IS) offices in London, Geneva, and New York and occasionally in other IS offices.

Internship programs tend to focus on our areas of International Law and Advocacy or are fellowships provided in partnership with universities.

Interns will gain valuable insight into the operations of these areas; vacancy notices will have further details of what each placement will involve.

Interns are generally recruited for a four to six-month period on a part or full-time basis to an intern-appropriate activity program.
