About the International Medical University Scholarships 

Scholarships are available to pursue pre-university and undergraduate degree programs for the academic year of 2024-2024.

IMU shall be an innovative global center of excellence in learning and research, supporting a community of scholars and professionals committed to serving society and promoting the development of students to reach their true potential in becoming competent, ethical, caring, inquiring citizens and visionary leaders.

Malaysian students who demonstrate academic excellence will be invited to apply through their offer letter.

Awarded annually, the International Medical University Scholarships are in the form of a tuition fee waiver.

Scholarships are available to pursue pre-university as well as undergraduate programs.

Study Subject:

International Medical University Undergraduate scholarships are awarded in the following fields of study: Medicine, Chiropractic, Chinese Medicine Psychology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science, Medical Biotechnology, Dietetics with Nutrition, and Nutrition.

Pre-University Grade Fields include Medicine, Pharmacy, Chiropractic, Chinese Medicine, Psychology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Medical Biotechnology, Nursing, Dietetics with Nutrition and Nutrition.

Scholarship Award:

Awarded annually, the International Medical University Scholarships are in the form of a tuition fee waiver.

Scholarships Available

  • The scholarships range from RM 2,000 – RM 6,000.
  • Candidates must achieve in at least 3 Science subjects (Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry) and English to be eligible for the FiS scholarship.

Undergraduate Scholarships:

The International Medical University (IMU) has introduced a scholarship program for 2024. Scholarships will now be available for most IMU programs. There will be two types of scholarships available:

  •  Full Tuition Fee (100%) for the entire program duration.
  •  Partial Tuition Fee (50%) for the entire program duration.

Scholarship Location

The International Medical University Scholarships can be taken in some selected universities in Malaysia.

Eligibility Requirements:

The following criteria must be met for applicants to be eligible for the International Medical University Scholarships:

Foundation in Science (FiS) Scholarships:

  • Scholarships are only open to all local and international students who have completed either the SPM or O-Level qualification in the immediately preceding year before admission into IMU.
  • Example: If the student is applying for admission into 2024, they are only eligible to be considered for the scholarship if they have completed SPM or O-Level in 2020 and met the scholarship requirements. There should not be any gap year between the completion of SPM or O-Level and the commencement of the IMU study.
  • The scholarship will only be awarded based on actual SPM or O-Level results, not forecast results.
  • Eligible candidates must pay the Semester 1 fee to register for the course and qualify for the scholarship.

Important: The International Medical University Scholarships are not automatically disbursed and are subject to approval by the Scholarship Selection Committee based on the candidates’ actual SPM or O-Level results and achievement in ECA. An interview is not required.

IMU Scholarship Committee may vary the selection requirements as and when necessary.

Undergraduate Scholarships:

  • Scholarships will be awarded the bonding subject to the program awarded.
  • All scholarships will only cover the tuition fees and no allowance for living expenses, books, and study-related equipment.
  • The amount will be disbursed on a semester-to-semester basis
  • Students must maintain the minimum CGPA of 3.50 per semester to continue with the International Medical University Scholarships. Failing which, the scholarship may be discontinued immediately effect.
  • Students who withdraw (for academic and non-academic reasons) without completing the program will be required to repay the amount that has been disbursed for the financial award given.
  • Repeat modules will not be covered, and the financial award will continue on a case-by-case basis.
  • IMU Scholarship Committee may vary the selection requirements as and when necessary.

Malaysian and international students are eligible to apply for the International Medical University Scholarships.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Scholarships are only open to all local and international students who have completed either the SPM or O-Level qualification immediately the preceding year before admission into IMU.

English language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements to be able to study there.

Application Process for International Medical University Scholarships

Scholarship applications can only be made after applying for the FiS program. Eligible candidates will be invited via email to apply for a scholarship. (norvado.com)

Required documents for submission are:

  • SPM or O-Level results;
  • Laporan Ko-Kurikulum with GPA score or grade (applicable only to Malaysians);
  • A personal statement with at least 100 words.

These documents must be submitted to Admissions Department 7 working days after closing (1 week after the commencement date). The scholarship value will be deducted from Semester 2 fees if an applicant is awarded a scholarship.
