SelfScore International Student Scholarship Application  [UPDATED]

The SelfScore Organization is currently open to receiving applications for the Self Score International Student Scholarships from International students to study in the U.S.

The SelfScore Scholarship is a national scholarship program dedicated to F1, J1, and M1 students studying in the US, it determines international student’s creditworthiness using alternative data including their ability to repay and predictive attributes such as education, major, cost of education, the source of initial funding, and future employability.

SelfScore is an analytics-based consumer finance company that helps populations gain financial independence through access to proper US credit.
At the moment, Self Score is focused on connecting international students to fair credit.

This Fall, the company will grant Six undergraduate and six graduate international students studying in the US will get financial support of $5000 respectively from this scholarship.

SelfScore is devoted to offering all students access to fair credit without the need for a FICO score or a co-signer. Instead, they use alternative metrics from your education, financial resources, and other factors that show your potential for success.

Available to all international students who are 18 years or older. No credit history, SSN or annual fee is required for International students. As an international student, you just need to have the following documents; proof of a U.S. bank account balance, passport ID, Student Visa, I-20 form.

The required documents must be uploaded on a cloud storage service. The SelfScore MasterCard is issued by Celtic Bank, a Utah-chartered Industrial Bank, Member FDIC.  Additional fees and restrictions may apply.

MasterCard Platinum Benefits include Car Rental Collision Damage Waiver, Travel Assistance Services (including Medical Assistance, Lost Luggage Assistance, and Legal Referrals), Extended warranty, Roadside Assistance, Price Protection and ID Theft Protection.

The Scholarship is hosted in the US.

Eligible Nationality

Applicants must be international students. Eligible countries include Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, Somalia, Djibouti, Mauritania, Turkey, Iran, Cyprus, Comoros, and other world countries except for the Middle East and North Africa.

Selfscore Scholarships Requirements

  • Must be an international student studying in the U.S. on an F1, J1, or M1 visa during the 2024 academic year
  • Must be accepted to study or continuing to study at an eligible college or university
  • Must submit a valid I-20 or DS-2024 form.
  • Must score in the top 15% on a standardized U.S. college entrance exam (SAT, ACT, GRE, or GMAT)
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA, or higher, or the equivalent from your prior studies

The twelve recipients will be selected randomly among the eligible applicants and no purchase or credit application is required to apply for the scholarship.

All applicants would be enrolled in a Free Financial Literacy program and all scholarships are awarded on a one-time basis. Applicants may also designate an international student club or organization as part of their application which will receive a one-time grant of $1,000.

The award may be used for any undergraduate or graduate study at a four-year or two-year college respectively in the United State

Selfscore Scholarship Worth

Self Score International Student Scholarship is a private scholarship that offers individual award amounts of $5,000 each to 12 eligible students [for six undergraduate students and six graduate students].

How to Apply for Selfscore Scholarships

Applicants have to create an account on the SelfScore login website to access the scholarship application form.
Or the applicant can nominate a friend but would only receive a one time grant of $5,000. Please note that, nominating multiple candidates would disqualify all your entries to apply for this scholarship.

Once the application window closes, SelfScore will randomly select twelve eligible scholarship recipients. If any recipient picked was nominated by a friend, the said friend will also receive a scholarship.

And if the scholarship candidate received multiple nominations, only the first nomination will be counted. Both the nominator and the nominee must meet the minimum eligibility requirements and complete the application process. Only nominees and nominators associated with the original twelve recipients selected will be considered for supplementary application.

To nominate a friend, ensure that you have completed your own scholarship application form first. After this, share a public Facebook photo with you holding a piece of paper with the first and last name of the person you nominated while holding up all five fingers of your other hand.

The required language for the SelfScore scholarship is English; it is awarded every year but is not renewable. A separate application is required to apply, although there is no need to attend a specific school.
