The government of Sri Lanka Scholarships Programme for Foreign Students and Asian Students at Sri Lanka Universities
The Ministry of Higher Education and Research in Sri Lanka is currently inviting Pakistan and international Students for the Government of Sri Lanka Scholarships and the courses are to start when the school academic calendar opens.
This scholarship offers international students and Pakistan students the chance to enroll themselves in undergraduate programs which are conducted by some state universities in Sri Lanka.
The scholarship winners will be exposed to a favorable environment with academic excellence, the culture of benevolence in the Asian setting and enticing climatic conditions.
Scholarship Worth
- Free of charge tuition and registration.
- Free Visa for studies
- One settlement allowance of LKR 10,000
- A monthly allowance of LKR 30, 000 during the study period as a living allowance.
It is expedient that the scholarship recipient will meet the costs for food and accommodation with the monthly allowance.
The eligible university or higher educational institute where the scholarship is being taken will assist in finding suitable accommodation for students.
Eligibility
- The international student’s scholarships in Sri Lanka is for only Pakistan students and international students in Sri Lanka, studying in any of the mentioned Universities.
- Any of the international students having Sri Lankan dual citizenship is not eligible to apply.
- Scholarships for Pakistan students in Sri Lanka will be given to Pakistan students with impressive results of an examination considered equivalent to G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination of Sri Lanka are qualified to apply for admission to any university in Sri Lanka.
- You have to attach the original letter of your Board of Examinations to prove that your educational qualifications are equivalent to the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination ~Sri Lanka or qualifications required for admission to any university in their own country to follow a bachelor’s degree program.
- Applicants should make sure that all required passes should be gotten in one and the same sitting under the approval of a recognized Board of Examination.
- Candidates must be aged less than 25 years.
How to Apply
Each applicant to this international scholarship in Sri Lanka should submit duly perfected 3 sets, with one original, of applications along with all required papers to their government nominating agency.
The Scholarships for Pakistan students in Sri Lanka is open to a student who is recommended by the government nominating agency in their country and should fill out the section 06 B of the application.
The government agency for nomination in the applicant’s country should provide a recommendation later, and the applicant shall submit the applications with the recommendation to the Sri Lankan mission in his or her country for sending the same to the MoHER, Sri Lanka.
In case a Sri Lankan mission is not in your country, the government agency for nomination can forward the applications directly to the MoHER, Sri Lanka.

Candidates must submit the following documents:
- Birth Certificate~Original
- Transcripts of G.C.E A/L & G.C.E O/L or equivalents.
- A letter obtained from the Board of Examinations
- Certified copy of IELTS or TOEFL certificate
- Data page of your passport.
The validity of the passport should remain at least for a year after arrival to Sri Lanka
