Transilvania University of Brasov
Established in 1948, the Transylvania University of Brasov has an annual enrollment of 20,000 students and 800 teaching staff. They build their programs in line with the labor market needs to provide relevant and applicable education, training and research based on concepts of sustainable development and national and European frameworks.
As well as Romanian, Transylvania University of Bravos offers programs in English, German and French.
University of Bucharest
The University of Bucharest was established in 1864, making it one of the oldest higher education institutions in Romania. The University has partnerships with over 100 universities around the world and the degrees they award are internationally recognized.
The university boasts an enrollment of around 32,000 students and offers a range of study options, from Bachelor to Ph.D. degrees, along with other academic programs like Erasmus and lifelong learning.
University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest
With over 190 years of experience, the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest (UPB) if the largest and oldest technical university in Romania, being the main source of technical specialists in the country. With an enrollment of around 23,000 students annually.
UPB prides itself on its ongoing modernization processes and continuous dialogue with the education industry both in Europe and around the globe.
Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies
Established in 1913, the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies prioritizes internationalization, offering various programs (from Bachelor degrees to PhDs) taught in English, German and French. Almost 22,000 students are enrolled within their 12 faculties, of which 700 are from non-EU countries.
The academy provides various services specifically for international students, such as orientation, accommodation, career guidance, and medical services. Students will also have the opportunity to take any of the 11 language courses, including Romanian, for a more immersive education experience.
Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca
Founded in 1959, Babes-Bolyai University is the largest university in Romania, with more than 41,000 students enrolled every year. Offering courses in Romanian, Hungarian, German, English, and French, Babes-Bolyai University is an incredibly accessible university for those wanting to study abroad in Romania, especially considering their admission rate is 90-100% of applicants.
As well as academic facilities, the university also offers non-academic services to students such as housing, sports facilities, financial aid, exchange programs, and online courses.
Technical University of Cluj-Napoca
An advanced research and education university, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca was founded in 1922 and has an annual enrollment of around 12,500.
With a dedicated international relations department and over 200 inter-university partnerships and student mobilities, the university makes internationalization a priority. Alongside education and internationalization, research is also a focus of the university.
Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Lasi
Alexandru Ioan Cuza University was established in 1860 and was the first Romanian university to implement the Bologna Process which ensure comparability in the standards and quality of higher-education qualifications within European countries.
The university prides itself on offering customizable education, also becoming the first university in Romania to offer both a major and minor field of study.
With more than 23,000 students and a staff of 745, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University cooperates with over 400 universities around the world, making it an accessible and internationally renowned institute of education.
Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași
The Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași was founded in 1813, making it one of the oldest and most well-known institutions in Romania.
The university has an important tradition in engineering, scientific and cultural education, with a focus on accessibility and compatibility with other European Universities through the Bologna System.
Every year, around 17,000 students gain a high-quality engineering qualification that equips them with the skills to contribute to innovation, research, and economic development.
West University of Timişoara
Founded in 1962, the West University of Timişoara has a strong focus on internationalization, with over 350 exchange agreements with programs and organizations around the globe, and accreditation from numerous international academic bodies.
The university offers 19 study programs that are taught in foreign languages (English, French, and German) at both Bachelor and Master levels.
Politehnica University of Timişoara
The Politehnica University of Timişoara was established in 1920 and is one of the most well-known and biggest technical universities in Central and Eastern Europe, boasting an enrollment size of around 12,000 students every year.
The programs offered are designed in line with the Bologna System with more than 100 international students undertaking a placement annually
