1. You must be a Sierra Leone citizen by birth or descent;
2. You must not be less than 18 years or more than 35 years of age;
3. You should not be less than 1.7 meters in height for males and 1.64 meters for females;
4. As an applicant, you must have a fully expanded chest measurement of not less than 0.87 meters;
4. You must be certified by a Government Medical Officer to be physically and mentally fit for appointment into the Service;
5. Not suffering from any form of mental or physical disability;
6. Every applicant must be free from any form of financial embarrassment;
7. Also, you must be of good character and must not have been found guilty of any criminal offense;
On the other hand, you should not apply if you have: sight problems, hearing difficulties;

a past major orthopedical operation; flat foot; fracture, stammering, or any other natural disability; pregnant women.

Any post-secondary certificate of education from a recognized institution; or General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) in 2 subjects obtained at one sitting or 3 subjects obtained at two sittings.
