Level/ Field of Study:

The Scholarship is available to pursue a Ph.D. program. The Ph.D. position focuses on the outcomes of three (clusters of) selected Danish agricultural investments.

The successful Ph.D. candidate will contribute to the overall research objective of identifying the factors which enhance positive development outcomes of foreign agricultural investments.

Host Nationality:

The scholarship is To be taken in Tanzania (The candidate will have an opportunity to receive part of his/her Ph.D. training at DIIS and at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark).

The successful candidate will receive a modest stipend throughout the valid PhD period and it covers all fieldwork costs, travel, and tuition fees.

  • Hold a master’s degree in his field.
  • Be highly willing to develop a scientific career.

  • Be a constructive team worker.
  • Applicants should be no more than 35 years for men and 40 years for women at the time of application.

Potential applicants are to prepare a 2-3 page concept note (maximum 1,500 words) which, with reference to the Ph.D. focus, outlines the more detailed focus for the proposed Ph.D. project as well as the research assumptions and questions.
