The Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives Fellowship Program provides recipients with month-long fellowships for research and writing at The Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives, located on the Cincinnati campus of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. Fellowship stipends will be sufficient to cover transportation and living expenses while in residence in Cincinnati.

Applicants for the Marcus Center Fellowship Program must conduct serious research in some area relating to the history of North American Jewry. Typically, Marcus Center Fellowships will be awarded to post-doctoral candidates, Ph.D. candidates completing dissertations, and senior or independent scholars.

Applicants must submit a fellowship application with a five-page (maximum) research proposal that outlines the scope of their project and lists those collections at the American Jewish Archives that are crucial to their research.

Applicants should also submit two letters of support, preferably from academic colleagues. For graduate and doctoral students, one of these two (2) letters must be from their dissertation advisor.

David and Maryla Korn Family Scholarship Fund for the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School and/or Jewish Primary Day School

Experiential Education and Jewish Cultural Arts Tuition Support Fund

George Washington’s Program in Experiential Education & Jewish Cultural Arts (EE/JCA), the only master’s program of its kind in the United States, offers an intensive 13-month, cross-disciplinary curriculum combining coursework in Jewish cultural arts, experiential education, and museum education.

Graduates will be prepared for careers in Jewish museums and arts institutions, community centers, college campus organizations, summer camps, and other innovative educational and cultural settings.

Qualified applicants to the Master’s Program in Experiential Education and Jewish Cultural Arts at George Washington University receive up to 85 percent tuition support. Stipends are merit-based and are awarded to full-time students only.

The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society of Chicago (HIAS Chicago) began in the hearts and deeds of the Chicago Jewish community around 1900. Eligibility:

The Central Scholarship and Loan Referral Service (CSLRS) of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh coordinates the efforts of a group of organizations, agencies and scholarship endowment funds that provide scholarships to local Jewish students enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education.

Eligibility:

The Jewish United Fund offers annual merit scholarships to high school, college, and graduate students to age 23 who demonstrate significant leadership skills.

Eligibility:

The Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation and the Naftali Steinfeld Memorial Scholarship Fund offer scholarships for high school students participating in approved Israel Experience programs based on financial need.

Eligibility:

  • -Applicant must be enrolled in grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 (this includes graduating seniors who attend college).
  • Applicant must demonstrate financial need.

Scholarships are awarded annually to a high school senior who has completed significant volunteer services within the local Jewish community in addition to high school graduation service requirements. The Alisa Flatow Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Alisha Flatow, a student killed in a terrorist attack. Competition is high for the limited number of available scholarships.
