How to Apply for Coolidge Scholarship 2024
Below is the Recommendation Guideline for this scholarship
- Guarantors should ensure to include the first and last name of the applicant in the first paragraph of their letter. Include your full name and affiliation at the end of the letter.
- State how they know the applicant, for how long, and in what capacity. The letter should be as specific as possible, providing relevant examples and other information that will be helpful to demonstrate to the Coolidge Scholars Program why the applicant is a worthy candidate.
- Guarantors can refer to coolidgescholars.org for more information about the Coolidge Scholarship and the selection criteria that will be considered when evaluating applicants.
- The letter should be no longer than 1,200 words and may be submitted as a PDF or a Microsoft Word file.
- To submit your letter of recommendation, guarantors should follow these steps:
- Click on the link in the automated email from the Coolidge Scholarship indicating that a student has been listed as a reference.
- Complete the subsequent form and upload the recommendation letter into the form. To upload your letter, save it as a Microsoft Word or PDF file, and click the “+Select a file” button towards the bottom of the form.
- A window will pop up to allow you to select the file to upload the letter, complete the rest of the form, and click the “Submit” button.

Coolidge Scholarship Deadline
Applications and letters of recommendation for the 2024 Coolidge Scholarship must be received by January annually at 5:00 PM Eastern Time to be considered.
Spring 2024: All applicants named finalists will be contacted directly by phone before May 1, 2024, and invited to Finalist Interview Weekend, which takes place in Woodstock, Vermont and historic Plymouth Notch, Vermont.
The Coolidge Foundation will cover the travel and lodging costs for finalists and one parent to attend Finalist Weekend.
