Living abroad is expensive especially when you want the best of everything. Academic responsibilities create a huge dent in your (or your sponsor’s) wallet. What a lot of people don’t know, is that there are a lot of scholarships available for Egyptians to study abroad.
You can easily make use of your academic skills, athletic skills, and leadership skills to get funding for your education. Scholarships are tricky, however, we’ve rounded up the top 10 countries and scholarships For Egyptian students to study abroad. We specifically outlined their requirements and deadlines as well.

The Need to Explore Scholarship Opportunities Studying Abroad
Paying your education fee yourself is not a bad idea but it is not the best. You can choose to invest that money into systems that can yield high returns on your investment.
Instead of paying yourself, you can leverage scholarship opportunities to help you. I bet you that you would need them as a just the cost of living expenses abroad can run down your money fast.
You might be tempted to think that the getting an education funding opportunity is a lot of work. Well, it isn’t so. You can start and complete your application process by only pushing certain buttons.
So, since you know this, let me tell you about these opportunities and how you can access them.
Scholarship Level:
As much as these scholarships are beneficial for all students, they’re created having a particular set of students in mind.
Basically, these scholarships are made available for students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in any field of study offered by the institution of their choice.
Eligible Nationalities:
In the course of this article, I will be listing some scholarships across ten different countries that an Egyptian student like you can get. In essence, these scholarships are International Scholarships for only Egyptian Students who want to Study Abroad.
Below is a list of the countries, their scholarships and requirements.
USA
This is one of the top countries that provide scholarships for Egyptian students to study abroad.
1. American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship
The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship improves educational access and opportunity while increasing international diversity.
This organization seeks to improve academic excellence and global leadership on a wide stage. The AU EGL is committed to positive civic and social change, and will return home to improve under-resourced, underserved communities in their home country.
Requirements:
- International students who have overcome various obstacles and challenges as well as those from diverse and underrepresented global and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- A minimum of 3.8 GPA equivalent (or in the top 10% of graduating class) for 9th-12th grades.
- A demonstrated commitment to leadership, volunteerism, community service, and to advancing the needs of people in their home country.
- A minimum 95 TOEFL iBT, 7.0 IELTS or 600 paper-based TOEFL
Further requirements
- You are a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or dual citizen of the U.S. and another country.
- You are enrolled in or have already begun any post-secondary studies at another university in your home country or the United States.

2. ICSP Scholarships at University of Oregon
The ICSP scholarships at University of Oregon are for international students who demonstrate strong financial need. A good number of the ICSP students receive a tuition-waiver scholarship ranging from 0 – 15 non-resident academic credits per term.
Each term, the scholarship amount remains consistent. ICSP students are expected to complete 80 hours per year of cultural service as required by the program. Cultural service can include speaking or giving demonstrations to schools or community groups about the heritage and culture of your country or participating in international events on campus.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be admissible or fully admitted to the University of Oregon. New students must apply for admission to the UO for 2024
- Applicants cannot be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or eligible to receive U.S. federal financial assistance.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need and meet the minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA requirement
ICSP students agree to complete 80 hours per year of cultural service as required by the program.

Europe
Different countries in Europe provide scholarships for Foreigners including Egyptian students to study abroad. We, therefore, encourage eligible Egyptians to apply.
3. Italian Government Scholarships for Foreign Students
Every year, the University of Bologna grants financial aids to college students who want to pursue bachelor and master’s studies.
These scholarships are for international students in Italian universities. Each scholarship seeks to help students remove financial burdens while they study.
Requirements:
To be eligible to apply for one of these scholarships, you must:
- Be an international or a European Union (non-UK), fee-paying student
- Postgraduate only – have achieved a minimum 2.1 or equivalent in your honors degree and must meet the English and academic entry requirements for your course. Please attach your transcripts to your scholarship application
- Undergraduate only – have achieved or exceeded the English and academic entry requirements for the course
- Have an offer for a full-time taught an undergraduate or postgraduate course at Sheffield Hallam University.
- Be self-funding your studies
- Be able to pay any additional fees your course may require, for example, field trips
- Knowledge of Italian Language: candidates must possess a certificate of intermediate level in Italian (e.g. CILS B2, CELI 3, PLIDA B2 or Roma Tre) or equivalent linguistic proficiency issued by a local organization or language school (e.g. Italian Cultural Institute, Dante Alighieri Society branch, etc.). Applicants for enrolment in Advanced Courses on Italian language and culture must have at least an A2 level proficiency in Italian.
- Italian language knowledge is not required for applicants who enroll in university courses held entirely in English.
- Age limits: Candidates who are younger than 18 y. o. (born not after 15 April 1998) or older than 35 y. o. (born not before 15 April 1981) on the day of the deadline for the submission of the applications, are not eligible. Candidates for Courses for teachers of Italian as a second language (see above, section III, the letter I) are eligible until they are 45 y. o. (born not before 15 April 1971) on the day of the deadline for the submission of the applications.
- Restrictions: Students enrolled in a year exceeding the legal duration of the course of study (the so-called “fuori Corso”) are not eligible for scholarships.

4. Emile Boutmy Scholarships for Non-EU Students at Sciences
Sciences Po started the Emile Boutmy scholarship, named after the founder of Sciences Po (1871), in order to welcome the very best international students from outside the European Union.
The Emile Boutmy Scholarship is given to top students whose profiles match the admissions priorities of Sciences Po and individual course requirements.
Requirements:
- Eligible students are those, first-time applicants, from a non-European Union state, whose household does not file taxes within the European Union, and who have been admitted to the Undergraduate or Master’s program.
- This scholarship is awarded based on factors of excellence and according to the type of profile sought for this program. Social criteria are also taken into account.
- In order to apply to this scholarship, you must notify it on your application form, as well as include proof of income and documents explaining your family situation.

5. Lund University Global Scholarship Program
As one of the top 100 universities ranked in the top 0.4% of universities in the world, Lund University draws high-achieving students from across the globe. The Lund University Global Scholarship program seeks to recognize these students by awarding academic excellence grants.
Scholarship recipients have a strong record of achieving consistently high grades in their previous studies and get a strong assessment as qualified candidates for the programs. The scholarship is selective, competitive, and merit-based.
Requirements:
- To be eligible to apply for a scholarship you must meet all of the following criteria:
- You must be a citizen of a country from outside the EU/EEA (and Switzerland) and are required to pay a tuition fee
- You have applied for Bachelor’s or Master’s level studies in the regular application rounds for a minimum of one semester of study (30 ECTS)
PLEASE DO NOT APPLY if you do not meet the admission requirements to Lund University or if you cannot secure the funding needed to cover living costs, as required by the Swedish Migration Board.
- To apply for a Lund University Global Scholarship, you must first apply for the program or free-standing course(s) you wish to study at Lund University using the online, national application website, www.universityadmissions.se during the application period.
- Once you have made a complete application to a degree program or free-standing courses of at least 30 ECTS credits and paid the application fee, the University will invite you to apply for the LU Global Scholarship and send you a link to the application form.

6. International Ambassador Scholarships at the University of West London
As a graduate of a three to a four-year undergraduate degree from the University of West London, you can gain access to a discount of £2,000.
If you wish to join a taught postgraduate course, you will get a discount of £500. You can get this discount for both full-time and part-time study.
Requirements:
Applicants must be:
- A self-funded overseas full fee-paying student (please note: EU applicants are not eligible).
- An offer holder for an undergraduate or postgraduate course at UWL, to commence study in September 2024.
- The International Ambassador Scholarship will be awarded on a competitive basis to candidates who demonstrate enthusiasm and the ability to be an excellent international student ambassador.

7. The Denys Holland Scholarship at University College London
This scholarship for Egyptians aims to help undergraduate students – who without it’s support would be – unable to secure the funding required to study at UCL. There is one award for 2024.
Requirements:
Applicants should be:
- Holding an offer of admission to UCL for full-time undergraduate study in any department;
- In financial hardship, and be able to demonstrate that without the scholarship they would be unable to study at UCL;
- Preferably aged 25 or below at the time of commencing their studies;
- Able to demonstrate that they have broad interests and intend to be actively involved in and contribute to the life of the university.

8. Transform Together Scholarships for International and European Union (non-UK) Students (Sheffield Hallam University)
Transform Together Scholarships are exclusively for international and European Union (non-UK) students who want to begin a full-time taught course in 2024. A half fee waiver (50% discount) is available for undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses for the first year of study.
Scholarships are awarded to students who can show excellent academic achievement. Applicants also need to explain how they will stand out from the crowd as an ambassador for Sheffield Hallam University during and after their studies.
Requirements:
- Be an international or a European Union (non-UK), fee-paying student
- Postgraduate only – have achieved a minimum 2.1 or equivalent in your honors degree and must meet the English and academic entry requirements for your course. Please attach your transcripts to your scholarship application

9. Macquarie Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarships
The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is given to recognise academic excellence for international students. This highly competitive scholarship is based on academic merit and awarded to future students.
This scholarship provides up to AUD $10,000 applied towards your tuition fee.
Scholarships are limited so we encourage you to accept your offer and scholarship early to avoid disappointment.
Requirements:
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
- Have met the University’s academic and English requirements for the course to be considered for a scholarship (must hold a FULL OFFER of admission for North Ryde by the application deadline).
- Have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 for Postgraduate applications and minimum requirement of an ATAR equivalent of 90 out of 100 for Undergraduate applications.

10. UC (University of Canterbury) International First Year Undergraduate Scholarships
UC International First Year Scholarship recognizes and supports top-achieving international students starting an undergraduate degree program at the University of Canterbury. The scholarship for Egyptians is currently awarded values of $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000. There are about 25 scholarship awards for beneficiaries.
Requirements:
- Eligible candidates must be full-fee-paying international students and may not be citizens of New Zealand or Australia, or holders of New Zealand residence class visas. They must be completed, or have completed on or after 1 January of the year before the year of application, a University Entrance-level qualification that permits entry into a University of Canterbury undergraduate degree program.
- Candidates must have applied for admission to the University by 15 August in the year prior to their intended first year of enrolment at the University.
- You may apply through this webpage approximately 8 weeks before applications close. If it’s possible to apply online for this scholarship, there will be a link above to the online system. If the link is not provided, please download and complete the application form located below.
