Entering Freshmen Scholarships:

If you wish to attend the University of Utah for the first time freshman you should complete a FAFSA application before Feb. 1st.  Successful students entering the university before this date can be considered for unique scholarships in the first year.

These first-year scholarships are divided into three main categories: need-based scholarships, academic merit scholarships, and diversity scholarships. A full list of these scholarships can be found here.

Continuing Students Scholarships:

If you have already completed at least one semester at the University of Utah, you may be eligible for one of these scholarships specifically for returning students. For a full list of potential scholarships for returning students, click here.

Many of these scholarships are offered by certain departments and colleges. For example, the Department of Biology offers a scholarship of $5,000, referred to as the Biology Continuing Student Departmental Scholarship.

This prize is awarded to a candidate with an average of at least 3.5years who lives at UT and has completed at least 30 credit hours at the university. Students must have specialized in biology and may not have graduated yet.

Transferred Student Scholarships:

Students transferring from other universities or colleges to the University of Utah can visit this Website, which describes the funding options for transferred students.

For these scholarships, students must have earned at least 60 credits at another institution and complete a FAFSA by 1 February. Scholarships for resident and non-resident students are available. The Utah Flagship Transfer Scholarship is a scholarship reserved for Utah residents taken on February 1.

This scholarship offers the recipient $ 2,500 per semester for up to four semesters. Students must be enrolled at the University of Utah full-time and have an average of 3.6.

The Transfer Success Award is available to students with a minimum score of 3.5 and UT residents. This award includes $2,000 a year for up to two years.
